Fresh red powder. Relative density 5.24g/cm3, insoluble in alkali and dilute acid, only soluble in concentrated acid when heated; Insoluble in water, organic solvents, and organic adhesives; Slightly soluble in alcohol. Has good dispersibility, light resistance, heat resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and resistance to polluted gases. Strong coloring and covering power. When burned, oxygen is released and can be reduced to iron by hydrogen and carbon monoxide. No oil permeability and water permeability.

Widely used for coloring various paints and coatings (anti rust paint, ship paint, enamel paint, etc.), building materials (face bricks, floor tiles, terrazzo, mosaic, artificial marble, etc.), plastics (thermosetting plastics, thermoplastic plastics), rubber, etc.
